Guess what's shaking in the Payroll universe? Yep, you got it – my go-to, the almighty Employment Hero, just dropped some updates. And let me tell you, it's not your usual snooze-worthy Tax table tweaks – these guys get what we actually need!
So, we all know the drill – Tax tables, super changes, and FWA Award Updates. But hold up, Employment Hero is on another level. They're not just ticking boxes; they're throwing in updates based on what we, the users, actually face in the trenches.
Case in point – the shiny new Portable Long Service Leave settings and reporting. Now, Long Service Leave is a beast that varies not only from state to state (thanks, history and ships!) but also dances to the Industry tune.
Take my home turf, Western Australia. If you're in the Building Industry, your Long Service Leave game is governed by the Long Service Leave Board. Yep, it tags along from job to job, and businesses in this space are singing to the Board's tune, throwing in a levy to fund those employee leave entitlements.
Now, imagine the poor Payroll Admin juggling yet another regulatory body, dishing out specifics (and cash) to keep that entitlement ship sailing. Back in the dark ages of payroll (and other software), this probably meant exporting custom reports to Excel and doing some funky math.
But hold your horses unless you're running the show with Employment Hero. Four months back, they gifted us a Portable Long Service Leave report. Now, you're not just using it as a glorified checklist. Nope, Employment Hero went above and beyond. They threw in settings, so you can customise both your employee setups and the report itself. Compliance just got a tad more manageable.
